Centering views and displaying partial trees The Move to Center command limits a links view to a file and its incoming and outgoing links. The Display Partial Tree command limits a navigation view to a partial tree or partial trees--a selected page and its logical descendents (children, grandchildren, and so on) or selected pages and their descendents. The most basic way to limit a view is by folding and unfolding it. For information, see Expanding and collapsing views. You also can limit a view by using the View Controller to vary and filter it. For information, see Varying the view of links and Filtering the contents of the view. To limit the view to a file and its incoming and outgoing links: 1 Select a file in the central pane of a links view. 2 Choose Design > Move to Center. The view is reduced to the file you selected and its incoming and outgoing links. 3 If you want to center the view on another file, select it and choose Design >Move to Center again. Just selecting the file won't change the view. To display only partial trees: 1 Select one or more pages in the central pane of a navigation view. 2 Choose Design > Display Partial Tree. The view is reduced to the pages you selected and their logical descendents (subtrees). 3 Select other pages to view their subtrees as necessary. You continue viewing subtrees until you choose Design > Display Partial Tree again. Viewing Web Sites > Controlling the view > Centering views and displaying partial trees |
